The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce is now on-lin. The Chamber purchased a new computer in October and for the first time our office is on-line. The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commrce would once again like to bring the WHITE HOLIDAY LIGHTS PROGRAM to Dover-Foxcroft. The Chamber, the D-F Fire Fept, Mocutoc Club and the Town of Dover-Foxcroft would like you to help us with this year's program. A special night of hoilday magic is being planned for Saturday December 5th. We are asking all businesses, nonprofits and homes to outline or decorated with white holiday lights. On Saturday December 5th at 5pm the committee would like to invite people to come to Dover-Foxcroft for a white lights ceremony that will include:

The S.P.C.C.C. Board of Directors voted to change the name of the Business, Industry and Health Show to the Piscataquis Valley Expo. The name change will reflect the number of exhibitors from outside of Piscataquis County who are taking part in this growing Show. The expo will be held on April 9 & 10, 1999 at PCHS in Guilford. Last years show was the best ever and the 1999 show promises to be better yet. If you would like more information call the chamber at 204-564-7533. The 1998/1999 Snowmobile mps for Southern Piscataquis Cojnty will be ready by mid-December. The Chamber would like to thank the 41 sponsors for purchasing ad space on this years map. Governor Angues King was the guest speaker at the S.P.C.C.C. Issues and Eggs meeting held at the Piscataquis Regional YMCA on October 13th. Fourty people attended the meeting to hear the Governors plans for the next four years. The Governor discussed many topics including education, economy and health care, when questioned, about the so called "Two Maines". He answered that there were several Maines and outlined his plans to improve the ecomomy for the whole state. After the meeting, the Governor held a small meeting with the Piscataquis Economic Council. The Governor was then taken on a tour of PQ Controls in Dover-Foxcroft. Earlier in the month the Chambers Issues & Egg's guests were James Longley and Tom Connley. The Chamber Plans more Issues & Egg's in January. The Dover-Foxcroft FASTTRAC COURSE ENTREPRENURAIL TRAINING program will finish its 12-week course on Nov. 30. Dover-Foxcroft course has 17 students who are learning basic business skills. The course is sponsored by Heart of Maine RC & D, and the center for small business at the U of Southern Maine. The Southern Piscataquis County Chamber was the local organizers for the program.
